Band of brothers join Ray White family in Pt Chevalier

Brothers in blood and business, Lawrence and Derek von Sturmer and their half brother Ross Brader have joined the Ray White family, opening Ray White Pt Chevalier. 

The trio have been operating in the Pt Chevalier area since Ross started the business in 1996. 

Real estate has always been in the genes, as Ross started in 1983 in Masterton and their mother worked in real estate in Wellington from 1991, Lawrence joined Ross’ team in 2002, while Derek started in real estate in Wellington in 2005 before moving to Pt Chevalier to join his brothers in 2007. 

Lawrence said his parents moved to Pt Chevalier three years ago to join the rest of the family.

“We all live, own and operate in the area and we’re very passionate about it,” he said. 

“Our 80 years combined sales experience and our care and involvement in the community is what makes the Pt Chevalier team such an asset to the area.

“We sponsor the local schools, sports clubs and businesses – it’s about supporting the locals that support us.”

Lawrence said he and his brothers knew Ray White was the right choice for them as their business and family values aligned.

Operating in a community oriented area where the market consists of mostly upmarket family homes, the Ray White Pt Chevalier office hopes to maintain its 60 per cent market share in the local area and continue to provide the best service possible. 

Lawrence said the unique way their trusted sales team operated is partly what helps get their clients the best results. 

“The way we work is quite unique in that we combine our experience, we work together to sell a property and share our commission,” he said. 

“We want to focus on getting the best results for our clients rather than focusing on just getting the sale.”
