David Kennedy has worked from the ground up and could be described as an “OG” at Black Group Realty. Starting his career in the real estate industry as an executive assistant at Bayleys Commercial and Industrial, he was then offered the opportunity to work for the owner of Ray White Takapuna, before moving up to the role of office manager. He was the first employee on board when the Ray White Takapuna office was established, and his strong work ethic and success working with the office’s exclusive clientele led to him being called on to do it all again when the Ray White Matakana and Omaha office opened. He made an indelible mark and deservingly was named MVP at the Black Group Realty awards in 2021 for his outstanding contribution to Ray White Takapuna. He’s now ready to bring his best to his new role as marketing manager for the Black Group. 


Described by his colleagues as “very professional”, “reliable” and a “top performer”, he is excited to help manage the Group’s marketing initiatives and continue its accelerated growth.

Having built an early career in marketing, he keenly understands that staying ahead of technology is not a luxury; it’s a necessity. His understanding of how digital and disruptive technology can be a game changer in real estate is what sets him apart from the rest of the pack. David likes to be continually challenged, exudes integrity in every interaction, and immerses himself in industry news to stay ahead. His drive and ambition, coupled with his gift for innovative marketing, means David is able to create amazing results using proven marketing strategies and tactical execution. 


He thrives in his interactions with principals, agents, and industry contacts, and takes pride in building lasting relationships. He works tirelessly to provide an unmatched level of service, always positioning his teams’ and clients’ needs as a top priority.


David has a Bachelor of Commerce, majoring in marketing management, from the University of Otago. In his free time, he enjoys working out at the gym, reading and listening to Stephen Hawking and Neil deGrasse Tyson, and building high-end computers.
